A frustrating issue has cropped up in “Indiana Jones and the Last Circle,” causing players to hit a wall in their quest to complete the much-anticipated Great Circle achievements. Since MachineGames released this fantastic Xbox action-adventure over six weeks ago, a bug has stubbornly persisted, hindering progress for many adventurers.
Players tackling “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle” are getting stuck in “The Blessed Pearl” mission due to a glitch. This problem prevents Indy from climbing ladders, scaling vines, or crawling through narrow passages. While the developers are reportedly on the case, the bug continues to affect a number of players.
Now, “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” is a stellar game, one that topped my list last year. However, the pesky bug in the “Blessed Pearl” mission on Sukhothai has stalled my journey—and by the look of things, I’m not alone. This glitch makes it impossible for our beloved archaeologist to maneuver through necessary obstacles. Oddly enough, this issue is confined to the Sukhothai level. While this part of the mission requires Indy to squeeze through a cave’s narrow gap, the level’s design keeps you isolated from other areas, trapping you unless you use fast travel. Sadly, even fast traveling doesn’t solve the problem, as the glitch stubbornly persists.
Dealing with this is downright maddening, and I’ve had to set the game aside until MachineGames solves it. They do offer a way to rewind your save to an earlier point, but in my case, two of my three save files are glitched. Using the third to avoid the problem would mean sacrificing countless hours spent unearthing hidden treasures beneath the Vatican’s streets.
As shared in a Reddit post, MachineGames has identified the issue as related to the character Sunan and possibly linked to the “Lost in the Past” side quest. The glitch seems to surface if players neglect a crucial final interaction with Sunan after handing over the golden hook. Properly chatting with him ensures Indy retains his environmental agility. Missing this, however, leaves players stranded in “The Blessed Pearl.”
If you’ve stumbled upon this glitch and have an unaffected save, you might roll back, revisit Sunan, and properly close the quest. But, if you’re like me and have no suitable save—or one that doesn’t involve losing considerable progress—you’re essentially stuck waiting for a fix.
It’s been a long six weeks since “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” launched, and this bug isn’t the only hiccup. Players are also experiencing issues with radio frequencies, the cog wheel puzzle, and other collectibles. I get that the holiday break might have slowed down the developer’s response time, but fingers crossed they’ll deploy a patch soon so we can dive back in with gusto.
