Respawn Entertainment, known for its innovative gaming experiences, seems to have pulled the plug on a multiplayer first-person shooter that was still in development.
The initial buzz came from Insider Gaming, which uncovered the news through a LinkedIn update by a former production coordinator at Respawn. The coordinator’s post, now removed, mentioned, “The unannounced incubation project I poured my efforts into over the past year came to an end this week. As a result, I’m joining other gifted and gracious professionals in the gaming industry who are seeking new opportunities.”
IGN has since confirmed the development was indeed a first-person shooter that Respawn had been cultivating in its incubator. While some employees have been laid off because of this decision, reports suggest that only a small group was affected.
The inception of this project is linked to team members previously engaged in a Star Wars first-person shooter at Respawn, which also faced cancellation back in 2024.
