Electronic Arts, alongside a group of game development teams known as Battlefield Studios, has finally given fans a sneak peek into the next Battlefield installment. While details are still largely under wraps, including specifics about the game besides who’s developing it and a short gameplay preview, there’s a new bit of promising information. Following the publisher’s third-quarter earnings announcement, it seems this upcoming first-person shooter might hit the shelves sooner than anticipated.
### When Can We Expect Battlefield 6?
According to EA’s fiscal year 2025 third-quarter report, the much-anticipated Battlefield game is slated for release during the fiscal year of 2026. So, as it stands, we can look forward to its launch sometime between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.
The report included an intriguing note: “EA unveiled Battlefield Labs, a new initiative allowing player-driven testing and innovation ahead of the franchise’s expected fiscal year 2026 release.”
Announced alongside the new game, Battlefield Labs is a fascinating initiative that opens the doors to players, allowing them to experience evolving Battlefield content during its development. This includes familiar game modes like Conquest and Breakthrough, but also fresh concepts the developers are eager to try out.
The announcement elaborated on this, saying, “Battlefield Labs is a place for us to test concepts and experiences we’re excited about with you, our players. We want our community to play a key role in the future of Battlefield, and this is an opportunity for many of you to do just that.”
“This marks a significant moment for Battlefield,” it added. “We will begin by testing core gameplay aspects like combat and destruction, and later move on to fine-tuning and obtaining feedback on weapons, vehicles, and gadgets. Ultimately, all these elements will come together in our maps, modes, and squad play.”
As gamers eagerly await more news, Battlefield Studios, comprising EA’s internal teams at Criterion, Dice, Motive, and Ripple Effect, is opening playtesting to fans. Enthusiasts interested in getting in on the action early can sign up now on the Battlefield website.
