Fortnite enthusiasts are voicing their irritation online about the default cosmetics being locked behind a whopping six pages of bonus rewards in the new battle pass for Chapter 6 Season 2. These bonus rewards offer additional edit styles and items, but to snag all these cosmetics, players are expected to reach a hefty level of 150.

Epic Games has recently rolled out Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite, and many in the community are thrilled with the update. There’s a buzz around the revamped map, with players excited about the new places to discover. The fresh loot pool has also impressed, with weapons and items like the Kneecapper grabbing the spotlight. In a recent Reddit discussion, user BuffWobbuffet highlighted that to unlock the default style of the Pickle Chip glider, players must make it to page six of the bonus rewards. Meanwhile, the base version of the Big Dill skin is easier to acquire, needing players to climb only to level 100 in the season’s pass. BuffWobbuffet shared that this system felt “ridiculous,” as not everyone has the time to finish the pass, let alone the bonus rewards.

Some players feel that this issue isn’t new, noting that previous battle passes have also kept default cosmetics behind similar barriers. The problem left some unable to gather all the items, even if they hit level 100 during the season. It’s a sentiment echoed by many who feel that default edit styles being tucked behind bonus rewards seem more obligatory than optional.

Another point of contention among fans is Fortnite’s decision to stop offering Kicks in their battle pass. Originally appearing last November, Kicks moved exclusively to the Item Shop, a move that hasn’t thrilled everyone. While popular, Kicks are seen by some as overpriced, often tagged at 1,000 V-Bucks. Players suggest they’d be more enticing if they were more affordable or bundled with passes and events.
