Coupled with its strong “Very Positive” reviews—standing at 91% at the time—it becomes clear that people are really enjoying what the game has to offer. Naturally, this has everyone wondering if there’s a sequel on the horizon.
Set in the intriguing world of Dungeon & Fighter, The First Berserker: Khazan is full of potential for future installments. Neople is already knee-deep in their next project, and the multiple endings of Khazan have left the door wide open for more tales centered around its characters. Given its success, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Neople revisit this universe for another Soulslike adventure. If that’s the case, there are several enhancements and additions that would make an ideal fit for a sequel.
When dreaming about what could enhance a potential sequel, a broader selection of weapons and armor is a must. The First Berserker: Khazan featured a somewhat limited range, which provides a great starting point for expansion without going too far afield. A few additional classic options, such as katanas or magical staffs, could bring a refreshing diversity without overwhelming fans. Pairing these with varied armor sets would significantly boost the game’s replay value.
Another missed opportunity in the original was multiplayer modes—a staple in FromSoftware’s Soulsborne games that Khazan drew inspiration from.
