Exciting news from the world of Marvel Rivals! Starting soon, players can look forward to fresh content more frequently, as the creative director, Guangyun Chen, announced in a recent update video. The game’s seasons are being shortened, which means we’re in for a treat: new heroes every month.
By the time Season 3 kicks off, the duration of each season will be reduced from three months to just two. This change introduces a thrilling rhythm to the game where a hero is both introduced at the beginning and in the middle of each season.
Guangyun Chen elaborated, saying, “After a lot of discussions and evaluation within our team, we’ve decided to adjust the format. From Season 3 onward, expect a new hero to make their debut every month.”
With shorter seasons, players can anticipate adjustments in earning in-game currency and unlocking battle pass cosmetics. Chen assured fans that these specifics will be ironed out and shared well before Season 3, which is set to launch in early July.
This rapid release of new heroes outpaces Marvel Rivals’ main competitor, Overwatch 2, significantly. Overwatch 2 typically unveils a new hero every six months. In contrast, Marvel Rivals impressively rolled out the entire Fantastic Four in just its first season, although NetEase Games clarified this was a unique situation, and moving forward, fans should expect two new heroes each season.
Mark your calendars for April 11, when Emma Frost joins the game’s roster as part of the launch for Season 2. Not to be outdone, Ultron is scheduled to make his entrance during the midseason update in June. Fans can also look forward to new team-up abilities, a feature allowing players to gift cosmetics, recolors of popular skins, and a slew of balance updates to enhance the gaming experience.
