Take-Two Interactive recently hinted that it’s on board with supporting the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future, though they’ve kept the specifics under wraps for now.
The well-known publisher has a solid track record with the original Switch, bringing a diverse lineup of games to the system. This includes titles like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and their latest offerings, NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, shed some light on their relationship with Nintendo during their Q3 2025 earnings call. He mentioned, “We’ve been working with Nintendo for a long time. We choose to support their platform based on what’s suitable for each release. In the past, Nintendo systems were more about younger players, shaping how we planned our releases.”
Zelnick went on to say, “But now, with the current Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, the audience is much broader. For instance, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII just launched on the Switch. While we don’t have exact details to announce, we’re definitely expecting to back the Switch 2.”
If you’re keen to find out more, mark your calendars for the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation set for Wednesday, April 2nd. It’ll air at 6 am PT, 9 am ET, 2 pm BST, and 3 pm CEST.
As for the console’s release, the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated to hit the global market in 2025, though the exact date is still a mystery.
