If I were to pinpoint the two brands that dominate my attention at Windows Central, Razer and Minecraft would come to mind. These giants of the gaming world may share a signature green color, but not much else connects them—until now. Razer and Mojang Studios have teamed up to unveil a limited-edition Minecraft collection. Four of Razer’s most well-loved PC gaming devices have been decked out in Minecraft-themed designs, and they’re available right now. Let’s dive into what sets these pieces apart and why you might want to snag them for your setup.
### The Razer Minecraft Collection Unplugged
This exciting crossover includes four of Razer’s top-selling accessories, each with a Minecraft twist. All of these are ready for purchase today, so there’s no time to lose if you’re eager to refresh your gaming corner.
Getting your hands on the full Razer Minecraft Collection will set you back $360. For those who aren’t as attached to the Minecraft aesthetic, the standard versions of these gadgets come in at $260, creating a $100 premium for the themed variant. This increase seems more justifiable than what we saw with the Razer Kuromi Collection, but it’s still noticeable when adding these themed pieces to your collection. You can learn more about them at Razer.com.
### Razer Kraken V4 X Minecraft Edition
The intriguingly designed Razer Kraken V4 X isn’t new to my reviews—I’ve checked out its wireless relative, and they share many features. The wired option is a robust choice for gamers at $80, with the Minecraft version adding a $20 twist. This seems like a fair extra for those who love the block-building game.
When you pick up the Razer Kraken V4 X Minecraft Edition, you’ll also score a special in-game code for the Ender Dragon Shawl. Personally, I lean towards the design without the Creeper accents, but this limited edition is a solid nod to the Minecraft universe, especially with those sneaky Creepers hidden inside the earcups.
### Razer Cobra Minecraft Edition
While we haven’t evaluated the standard Razer Cobra, the Razer Cobra Pro’s wireless cousin is appreciated for its balance of comfort and performance. Opting for the Minecraft Edition comes with a $20 increase, which might seem a bit steep. However, it’s still a high-quality mouse.
Purchasing the Minecraft Edition also gifts you the Overgrown Arm in-game cosmetic code. The design perhaps isn’t the most practical—the centerpiece being a grass block seems slightly quirky. At least you’ll feel grounded every time you use it!
### Razer BlackWidow V4 X Minecraft Edition
I haven’t personally reviewed the Razer BlackWidow V4 X, though I’ve spent time with the more flashy V4 Pro. While the former doesn’t quite have all the bells and whistles, it’s a worthy part of the “everything but the kitchen sink” Razer keyboard lineup, and it comes with a $40 premium for Minecraft fans.
Get this version, and you’ll receive an in-game code for the Ender Dragon Shawl. This keyboard is my standout favorite from the collection. It fits the Minecraft theme wonderfully with its foundation on authentic grass blocks—and those adorable Creepers peeking out on the arrow keys. It’s a shame the cool grass block keycap is sold separately, and elusive at that.
### Razer Gigantus V2 (Medium) Minecraft Edition
Though we often skip reviews of basic mousepads, Razer’s quality here speaks for itself. The Minecraft Edition mousepad costs three times the standard version, which feels like a hefty ask.
Still, with this purchase, you also receive a code for the Overgrown Arm cosmetic. Even so, the design doesn’t spark much joy, resembling myriad unofficial Minecraft mousepads out there. But hey, this one’s the real deal.
### Wrapping It Up: An Intriguing Collection with Mixed Reactions
The Razer Kuromi Collection had a charm all its own, though it was mostly applied to Razer’s lower-tier products. The Minecraft bundle certainly steps up, aligning more with what many gamers likely have on their desks. Yet, the designs don’t quite light up the imagination. Given Minecraft’s vast world of possibilities, focusing on Creepers and grass blocks feels somewhat basic.
That being said, these might delight devoted Minecraft fans, especially those looking to upgrade a younger gamer’s gear. Meanwhile, in other Minecraft news, they’ve started rolling out cute new egg designs and personality-rich wolves. And on Razer’s side, you’ll find my recent reviews on the Razer Handheld Dock Chroma and Monitor Stand Chroma—just a little something to keep me busy!
