OneXPlayer has just unveiled its latest innovation, the X1 Pro, which boasts a versatile 3-in-1 design and leverages AMD’s Strix Point APUs. This move follows the footsteps of the F1 Pro and the Ayaneo 3, placing the X1 Pro among the early adopters of AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs. It’s set to be a formidable rival to GPD’s anticipated Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
What sets the OneXPlayer X1 Pro apart is its multifunctionality. It seamlessly transforms into a laptop, tablet, and handheld device. Mirroring the Pocket 4, it showcases the impressive Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor. This powerhouse features 12 cores—split between four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c—in a dual-CCX arrangement, bolstered by 12MB L2 cache and 24MB L3 cache, reaching boost speeds of up to 5.1 GHz. Graphics-wise, it’s equipped with a Radeon 890M, sporting 16 Compute Units and backed by AMD’s XDNA 2, offering up to 50 TOPS of AI prowess.
Visually, the X1 Pro impresses with its vibrant 10.95-inch, 120 Hz LTPS display, likely an IPS panel, featuring a sharp 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. Colors pop thanks to its 138% coverage of the sRGB spectrum and a bright 540 nits. Users can tailor storage from 1TB to a hefty 4TB, enjoying speeds of 7.1 GB/s for reads and 6.5 GB/s for writes in an M.2 2280 form. Plus, a MicroSD slot offers even more flexibility.
When it comes to pricing, the X1 Pro is available for pre-order at reduced rates: snag the base model with 1TB storage and 32GB RAM for $1,399, before it jumps to its retail price of $1,599. Similar deals span the line-up, all the way up to the top-tier model offering 4TB storage and 64GB RAM.
Battery life is pegged at eight hours on its 65.02Wh cell, but in practical settings, expect roughly two hours at a 28W setting. A 100W Gallium Nitride charger comes standard, ensuring quick power-ups. Connectivity options are solid, featuring Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
Analog sticks integrate hall-effect sensors to combat drift, and the device’s ports won’t leave you wanting. Two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink, a MicroSD slot, USB 3.2 Type-A, and a 3.5mm audio jack efficiently round out the I/O.
You can place your pre-order today and snag a deal during the presale window. Shipments start on January 3rd, and if you’re curious to see it in action, OneXPlayer will showcase the X1 Pro at the upcoming CES 2025 next month.
