Happy New Year, Travelers! As we step into 2025, the Genshin Impact team is thrilled to wish you all the best and to share exciting news about our next major update. Version 5.4, titled “Moonlight Amidst Dreams,” is set to launch on February 12. This latest adventure will welcome players back to the striking lands of Inazuma, a territory filled with electrifying energy. Prepare to immerse yourself in the delightful Mikawa Flower Festival, alongside both new and familiar faces like Yumemizuki Mizuki, Raiden Shogun, and Yae Miko. Together, they invite you to celebrate under the ethereal glow of Inazuma’s moonlight, where humans and youkai come together in harmony.
The Grand Festival at the foot of Mt. Yougou in Inazuma is more vibrant than ever this year. Once a congregation spot for ancient youkai, it now warmly welcomes humans too, blending age-old traditions with newfound friendships. A highlight of the festival is the “48-hour Game Development Competition,” a spirited event featuring a special appearance by Raiden Shogun herself. Rumor has it she will be delving into an ominous dream involving an old companion.
This engaging game competition encourages humans and youkai to combine their creative powers over two days. Thanks to a magical twist, courtesy of the Kitsune Meal, youkai have gained the ability to communicate in human languages. This harmonious collaboration promises a medley of exciting new mini-games for everyone to enjoy!
Leading the charge is “A Little Fox’s Daydream,” where Mizuki and Kokomi guide players through an enchanting dreamscape adventure. It’s all about helping a little fox navigate dreams and nightmares, chasing after delicious fried tofu and other destinations.
Next up is “Bunshin Phantasm,” a strategic challenge from Sayu, Yoimiya, and Kichiboushi. Players must guide adorable Muji-Muji Daruma, mimicking their movements to unlock pathways and triumph.
Don’t overlook Thoma and his youkai friends’ creation, “Akitsu Harpastum: Dreams Doubled.” This unique fusion mixes the classic brick breaker game “Akitsu Yuugei” with Mondstadt’s harpastum, ready for solo or co-op play. Competing in these mini-games earns you Festival Stamps, redeemable for exciting rewards like the 4-star polearm, “Tamayuratei no Ohanashi.”
Alongside the games and festivities, the Aisa Bathhouse is adding to the festive flair by introducing Mikawa Flower Festival-themed bathrobes. This stylish addition is backed by their new 5-star character and major shareholder, Yumemizuki Mizuki. As a yumekui-baku with a talent for consuming nightmares, Mizuki doubles as a clinical psychologist, helping clients conquer their darkest fears. Her story quest will let you explore the soothing ambiance of Aisa Bathhouse and perhaps experience her dream-altering treatments firsthand.
In battle, Mizuki stands out as a 5-star Anemo catalyst user, offering a compelling blend of Swirl DMG and healing. Her versatility makes her an excellent fit for various team setups, capable of enhancing a team’s overall damage with her Swirl DMG skills. Her Elemental Skills allow her to gracefully deal AoE Anemo DMG while boosting team Swirl DMG, and she offers strategic healing options tailored to the team’s needs.
When it comes to her Elemental Burst, Mizuki draws enemies in to release “Yumemi Style Special Snacks.” Depending on the active character’s HP, picking up these snacks will either heal or deal AoE Anemo DMG. Additionally, Mizuki’s unique talent adds a significant 30% boost to healing when teammates use HP Recovery Dishes.
In terms of gameplay mechanics, Mizuki shines with her Dreamdrifter state, enhancing pickup ranges for her snack abilities — a handy feature in chaotic combat scenarios. For the Event Wishes in Version 5.4, travelers can look forward to Mizuki’s debut and a rerun featuring Sigewinne in the first phase, while Furina and Wriothesley return in the second phase. Mizuki will join the Standard Wish banner with the Version 5.5 update.
Beyond the festival, there’s more to explore. The “Travelers’ Tales: Anthology Chapter” event invites players to encounter old friends in the open world, as shown by anecdote icons on your map. Additionally, the “Realm of Tempered Valor” event introduces a series of combat challenges with 25 floors each, available for solo or Co-Op play with exclusive Namecards as milestone rewards.
For those seeking activities beyond combat, there’s the multiplayer “Invasive Fish Wrangler” fishing mini-game or the chance to dive into ad-editing commissions with Xavier.
Moving forward, anticipate some quality-of-life improvements! Level-Up Plans will become part of the “Training Guide,” assisting you in material calculation and location checks. Other interface enhancements will include displays for required materials across various screens, streamlining your character development experience.
Crafting will be more efficient too; you can now directly teleport to the Crafting Bench by clicking on “Craftable Amount,” and an Auto Add feature will speed up weapon refinement processes.
That wraps up our update for today. We hope that you’ll reconnect with cherished friends and create lasting memories at the Mikawa Flower Festival. Here’s to enjoying Version 5.4 and embarking on even grander adventures ahead!
