Asian triple-A outsourcing powerhouse, Winking Studios, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring China’s Mineloader.
The deal is valued at a significant £16.3 million, or $19.87 million. This acquisition involves an initial payout of $14.7 million, with the remaining amount set to be distributed over the next five years, contingent on Mineloader meeting specific performance targets from its Shanghai base.
Founded back in 2003, Mineloader has carved out a niche as an art outsourcing developer.
“This stands as our most significant acquisition to date and is a major milestone that bolsters our standing within the global video games sector, opening up fresh avenues for growth and innovation,” stated Winking Studios’ CEO and founder, Johnny Jan.
He added, “Game art is the cornerstone of video game development, providing the visual and creative stimulation that captivates players and enhances their gaming journey. Mineloader’s impressive record and specialization in game art production, supported by a skilled team of over 460 employees, will complement our Group’s existing workforce of over 800, enriching our services in this area and attracting new clientele. Furthermore, Mineloader’s established foothold in the Japanese market adds considerable value to our business networks and global reach.”
